Good News: HUCM Won 45 Youth Science Fund Project of General Program of NSFC in 2021

On August 18, 2021, the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) announced the evaluation results of General Program and other 10 programs in 2021, including 45,681 Planned Grants, 19,420 General Program and 21,072 Youth Science Fund Projects. Other types of programs are under review or approval.

According to statistics, up to now, our university has been awarded 45 projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) in 2021, and the direct cost of funding is 14.8 million RMB, including 12 General Program and 33Youth Science Fund Project, which has maintained growth for four consecutive years. According to the division of academic departments, there are 39 projects in the Department of Medical Sciences, 3 projects in the Department of Chemical Sciences, 2 projects in the Department of Life Sciences, and one project in the Department of Earth Sciences. According to the division of disciplines, there are 24 projects of Chinese medicine, 7 projects of the combination of TCM and Western medicine, 6 projects of TCM, one project of pharmacology, one project of pharmacology, one project of synthetic chemistry, one project of chemical measurement, one project of environmental chemistry, one project of botany, one project of veterinary medicine, and one project of geology. Our university has 11 disciplines projects in 4 departments , and the discipline of TCM continues to maintain its dominant position in the total number of projects, while pharmacology, pharmacology, chemistry, botany, veterinary medicine and geology have also received projects, among which botany and geology are the first time to receive projects.

The year 2021 marks the centenary of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the start of a new journey to comprehensively build a modern socialist country, and the first year of the 14th Five-Year Plan. The National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) was approved for 45 projects, which is a record high and a good start for our science and technology work during the 14th Five-Year Plan. This is the result of the strong leadership of the university, comprehensive measures, and the joint efforts of all scientific researchers, which will further stimulate the confidence and vitality of our scholars who are in the scientific research front. And all of us will continue to carry forward the spirit of being pragmatic and hardworking, having the courage to make breakthroughs and innovations, and contribute to building an internationally renowned and first-class as well as teaching and research-oriented university of Chinese Medicine at an early date.
