In the blossom of fragrans and chrysanthemum, autumn is upon us. On the morning of October 9th, 2020,theopening ceremony of the Fifth Clinical Medical School of our university, People’s Hospital, Wen Hua Road Campus is held at the Medical Education Center in Wen Hua Road Campus.
More than 600 people attended the opening ceremony, including Director Zhang Zhimin fromHealth Commission of Henan Province, Deputy Mayor Sun Xiaohong of Zhengzhou City, Director Wang Jinhe from Department of Scientific Research and Education of Health Commission of Henan Province, Director Ji Xiwei from Department of Chinese Medicine of Health Commission of Henan Province, Deputy Secretary Zhang Wenyan from Party Committee of Health Commission of Zhengzhou, Member of Party Committee, Deputy Investigator Wang Bingguiof from Health Commission of Zhengzhou, Secretary Bie Ronghai of Party Committee from our university, President Xu Erping, Member of Party Committee, Vice President Xu Jiangyan, Vice President Feng Weisheng, President Hao Yibin of People’s Hospital of Zhengzhou, Secretary of Party Committee Huang Juan, as well as heads of related departments from our university, leaders from affiliated hospitals, members of leadership from People’s Hospital of Zhengzhou, middle management from functional departments, representatives from Medical Corporation of People’s Hospital of Zhengzhou, media representatives, doctor representatives, nurse representatives, students representatives, etc. The ceremony was presided by Member of Party Committee, Vice President Xu Jiangyan.
During the ceremony, President Hao Yibin from People’s Hospital of Zhengzhou made a remark. He stated that the hospital had officially become the Fifth Clinical Medical School of Henan University of Chinese Medicine this year, and would undertake the task of educating students majoring in clinical medicine and preventive medicine, as well as assist the teaching of medical laboratory major, and medical imaging major. Meanwhile, Party Committee of the university had appointed leadership in the medical school, which was an essential measure in promoting high-standard construction of institutional hospital during the reform of the university and the People’s Hospital. Hao Yibin introduced the preparations on undertaking clinical medical teaching of the university from perspectives such as hardware facilities, teaching staff, soft power etc. He stated that the hospital would definitely contribute to the development of the Fifth Clinical Medical School, cultivate medical talents that would meet the needs of clinic requirements, and provide excellent medical service to the people.

In his speech, Secretary of Party Committee Bie Ronghai pointed out that the opening ceremony today had made its vital step to the layout of optimizing disciplines, and perfecting the education of talents. It was also the beginning of the promotion of the combination of medical teaching and service, and speeding up of the innovation of medical service and teaching. He hoped that the hospital would take this opportunity to further optimizing teaching resources, strengthening teaching staff, consolidating management of practical teaching, continuing practicing specialized brand, while passing on advanced medical technologies and ethics to students, and cultivating more and more outstanding medical staff.
Deputy Secretary Zhang Wenyan from Party Committee of Health Commission of Zhengzhou gave a speech in which she stated that this opening ceremony marked the official establishment of the cooperation between Henan University of Chinese Medicine and People’s Hospital of Zhengzhou, which was a milestone in the development of Chinese Medicine in Henan Province. She proposed three hopes: First, ensure good platform construction, promote sharing of recourses; second, innovate management pattern, enhance communicative cooperation; third, educate outstanding talents, benefit the people.
Director Zhang Zhimin from Health Commission of Henan Province made a wonderful speech. He pointed out that the establishment of the relationship between Henan University of Chinese Medicine and Affiliated People’s Hospital of Zhengzhou was a very important act based on the frontier of medical reform, which was an in-depth combination of medical service and education. The affiliated relationship between the two units had a milestone significance in the history of the development of medical service and medical education in Henan Province. He hoped the two units could maximize their advantages on resources, educate more and more excellent medical talents, promote new development and transformation of medical service, play a vital role in education and medical service which are essential projects in people’s livelihood, and make greater contribution to the health of the public.
During the ceremony, Zhang Zhimin, Sun Xiaohong, Bie Ronghai, Xu Erping, Zhang Wenyan, Hao Yibin unveiled the name plates for the Fifth Clinical Medical School of Henan University of Chinese Medicine, People’s Hospital, Henan University of Chinese Medicine Wen Hua Road Campus. After the ceremony, President Hao Yibin and heads from the hospital accompanied participating leaders to visit San Zhi Book Center of the School, Building of Medical Teaching Center, Library Information Center, Catering Center (student dining hall), student dormitory and other sites for studying and living. The leaders approved the environment of Wen Hua Road Campus and its facilities, and had high prospect for the development of the Clinical Medical School.
