May 30th, 2020 is the fourth National Scientific and Technological Workers’ Day. On that day, the Second National Innovation Prize Commendation and Award Ceremony was held in Beijing. A total of 10 scientific research teams and 286 scientific and technological workers were awarded prizes, medals and certificates respectively. Professor Li Jiansheng, member of the Party Committee and Vice President of our university, won the National Award for Innovation.
In recent years, Professor Li Jiansheng has carried out some innovative work on key issues such as diagnosis and treatment standards of respiratory diseases, treatment scheme / technology, research and development of new drug, and respiratory infectious diseases. He has made outstanding contributions to the development of science and technology in the prevention and treatment of respiratory diseases with the combination of traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine. He has won two second prizes of National Science and Technology Progress Awards (2012 and 2015), four first prizes of Provincial and Ministerial level, Outstanding Contribution Award of Henan Province in Science and Technology, 9 invention patents and 17 copyrights. He has published 255 Chinese core papers on respiratory diseases and 58 papers in SCI.
Approved by the CPC Central Committee in 2017, the National Innovation Award was jointly established by the China Association for Science and Technology, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council. It honors excellent scientific and technological workers and excellent teams who have made outstanding contributions in basic research and frontier exploration, tackling key problems in major equipment and engineering, achieving transformation, innovation and entrepreneurship, science popularization and social services, etc. The commendation cycle of the National Innovation Award is three years, it awards the national innovation prize to the outstanding teams and the certificate to the outstanding individuals, among which the outstanding contributing individuals are awarded medals and enjoy the treatment of the provincial and ministerial level award winners.
