In the late August of 2020, our school held 2020 Summer Scientific Research Backbone Promotion Training Course. The training was sponsored by the Department of Science and Technology of the university, and undertaken by the School of Continuing Education of Zhejiang University. It adapted the form of online broadcast, with natural science course session and social science course session, each session lasted five days. More than 190 scientific research backbones and more than 300 researchers from our university and affiliated hospitals participated in the training, which achieved good results.
In order to keep up with the scientific and technological trends and popular topics at home and abroad, get close to fact and real practice, and effectively improve the scientific research ability and professional level of key scientific research staff, the Department of Science and Technology as well as the training organization have repeatedly studied the training program and content, carefully made organization and preparation. Well-known experts from Fudan University, Zhejiang University, Zhejiang Chinese Medicine University, Zhejiang University of Technology, Party School of PRC Zhejiang Committee, and Zhejiang Federation of Humanities and Social Sciences Circles were invited to give 20 wonderful lectures on topics such as the innovative development of traditional Chinese medicine, selection of scientific research topics and project design, scientific research norms, thesis writing, team construction of scientific research, scientific research problems in discipline construction, social science research methods, the application of national scientific research projects, and the basic ideas of philosophy and thinking methods, etc. Among these, academic ethics and prevention of academic misconduct were taken as an important lecture. After each lecture, there were discussions and exchanges between the students and experts.
Under the normalization of epidemic prevention and control, this training course was organized and carried out in the form of network live broadcast, so that more staff of our school and affiliated hospitals have the opportunity to participate to improve their scientific research ability. It saved conference funds and also achieved the expected results. Through a series of learning, students had broadened their horizons, sorted out scientific research ideas, learnt new methods, improved their ability and enhanced their confidence. Students claimed that they would effectively apply the ideas, concepts and knowledge acquired in the training to their scientific research, make achievements, concentrate on accelerating the construction of the characteristic backbone university, and make greater contributions to the transformation and development of our university.
