On April 28th and 29th ,“2019 National Symposium on Postgraduate Education of Traditional Chinese Medicine (the General Council of the Postgraduate Education Research Association of the National Higher Educational Associations on Traditional Chinese Medicine )”,sponsoredby National Steering Committee for Graduate Education of Chinese Medicine andthe Postgraduate Education Research Association of the National Higher Educational Associations on Traditional Chinese Medicine,undertaken byour school,was held in the third lecture hallof our library. More than 60 experts from the governing institutions of more than 30 postgraduate education associations of Chinese Medical Higher Education Society attended the meeting. Staff members of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine attended the meeting for guidance.
At the opening ceremony, Li Jiansheng as amember of the Party Committee and Vice-President of theuniversitywelcomed the guests,briefly introducedthe basic survey and the situation of postgraduate education, and hoped that the guests would give moreadvice tothedegree and postgraduate education work. In his speech, Wang Wei, Vice-President of Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, hoped that the experts attending the meeting would discuss the hot issues such as the development status of professional degree of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), the setting of core courses, the reform practice of doctoral degree of TCM, andproblem of setting standards for degree and postgraduate education in TCM Colleges and universities, so as to achieve mutual promotion and common development.
Experts from Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, warmly discussed some problems and reached a consensuson the reform of postgraduate training mode for doctoral degree in traditional Chinese medicine, the development report on the category of professional degree in traditional Chinese medicine, the investigationreport onpostgraduateeducation for master's degree in China, the core curriculum guide for postgraduates majoring in traditional Chinese medicine, the development report of the degree category of traditional Chinese medicine.
During the meeting, The 4th Chairman Meetingon Postgraduate Education ofNational Higher Education of Traditional Chinese Medicine Association was also held. Before the meeting, President Xu Erping paid a special visit to the experts. The conference discussedsome problemsand reached consensus on launching the selection of excellent staff and excellent educational management papersabouttheeducation and management in 2019, the preparation of Annual Academic Conference sponsored by the Educational and Instructional Commission/Graduate Education in 2019.[Text/Li Yanfang; photo/Qin Dongren]
