On the evening of October 18, 2018, HUCM held a 60th anniversary art show in the Five Star Plaza. The leaders of HUCM, guests and experts attending the International Conference on Zhang Zhongjing’s academic thoughts Inheritance and Innovation, alumni representatives, as well as teachers and students representatives together celebrated the 60th anniversary of HUCM. The theme of the party was “Sixty-Year Inheritance & Building Dreams”, consisting of “Wood- Germinating”, “Fire- flourishing”, “Gold-Innovating” and “Water-Thanksgiving” chapters. Amid the documentaryYouth in HUCM(Xinglin Fanghua), began the party in which a series of pictures vividly showed the HUCM's trials, hardships, and leapfrog development of the past 60 years as well as indicated the bright future of HUCM.
In the first part, theprogramof music, dance, poetry and paintingExtraordinary Timeslead us to review the history of HUCMenduring great hardships in pioneer work and recalled moving past of every generation in HUCM. The crosstalkBeauty of Traditional Chinese Medicineand Henan local art performanceZhongjing Songshowed the cultural essence of medical wisdom and medical ethics. In the second part, the vigorous performances of the music and dance programGreen World, Colorful Campus and Great Big Treepresented the passion and youth of the students in HUCM. It showed the campus charming and teachers’demeanor in the poem “green rippling Tian Yi Lake,fragrance of Chinese herbsandteachers are skillful in teaching, having pupils everywhere”. The third part combined the elements of tradition, root, flower, river and wushu”, which highlighted the extensive and profound culture of TCM and the Central Plains. In the fourth part, the programs,Practice Medicine in The World,Company with HUCMandOur Benedictionexpressed the courage and confidence of HUCM in staying true to its original mission, summing up experience from its history, innovating to speed up its development and reforming to obtain vigorous motive power to build an internationally renowned and first-classteaching and research university of traditional Chinese medicine in China. The fifth part began with a song,Banner. The exciting melody expressed the deep love of teachers and students for their motherland and university. The poetry recitalSong of HUCMrecording the past and looking forward the future expressed the praise of HUCM and played the triumphant song of its development.The chorus, School Song of TCM,pushed the art show to its climax.
The art show took the principle of grandness,solemnity,jubilance,simplicity,distinction and elegance and the warm applause broke out from time to time. The performers ranged from freshmen toretired veteran cadres including doctors and nurses from HUCM and three affiliated hospital of HUCM. They gave their enthusiasm and dedication to 60th birthday of HUCMas a gift, which showed the good spiritual outlook of people in HUCM and depicted the heartful expectations of people in HUCM for a better future.
