The Donation Ceremony
On the afternoon of October 16th, 2018, the donation ceremony of Ding Ying Scholarship was held in the third lecture hall of the library. Secretary of the Party Committee, Bie Ronghai, President Xu Erping, Vice President Xu Jiangyan, Professor Ding Ying of the First Affiliated Hospital, representatives of pediatric experts, heads of relevant departments and affiliated hospitals, representatives of students majoring in Pediatrics of Traditional Chinese Medicine participated in the signing ceremony. The ceremony was held by Vice President Xu Jiangyan.
As the First National Famous Chinese Medicine Doctor and National Famous Teacher, Professor Ding Ying has made achievements in pediatric medicine and academics in the First Affiliated Hospital of Pediatrics over the past 50 years, which Secretary of the Party Committee, Bie Ronghai had highly appraised. On the 60th birthday of our university, Professor Ding Ying donated 60 thousand Yuan to set up "Ding Ying Scholarship" for poor students in Pediatrics of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Professor Ding Ying's dedication to the medicine and giving back to her old school will encourage students to be a person who is beneficial to the society, the country and the nation.
In her speech, Professor Ding Ying thanked for our university’s cultivation on her. She said that she had always wanted to do something for the school and for the Pediatrics of Traditional Chinese Medicine. On the 60th birthday of the university, she hoped that the more excellent students from poor families will be subsidized by the scholarship. At the same time, more students will be encouraged to climb the peak of knowledge and devote themselves to the Pediatrics of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Subsequently, Professor Ding Ying's doctoral student, Zhang Xia described the daily life with her teacher in an affectionate tone. Professor Ding's integrity and dedication have an great impact on students. She hoped that her old school would be stronger, the development of Pediatrics and the growth of students would be her greatest expectations. Just like their teacher, the students would shoulder the mission of developing the Pediatrics of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Finally, President Xu Erping signed a donation agreement with Professor Ding Ying, and issued a donation certificate to her.
