On Behalf of Our University, Principal Xu Erping Accepted Donations from Alumnus Chen Guangfei

On October 17, 2018, The Signing Ceremony of Donation Agreement between Henan University of Chinese Medicine and Sino-US Medical Group was held in the third lecture hall of our university library. The President of Sino-US Medical Group and excellent alumni of grade 94 of our school, Chen Guangfei, donated 50 million Yuan to our university to help the development of alma mater and the development of Henan Traditional Chinese Medicine. The guests included Chen Guangfei, President of Sino-US Medical Group, Vice President Qin Guoliang, General Manager of Henan Plastic and Beauty Hospital Wang Jun, The Secretary of the Board Su Longfei; Secretary of the Party Committee of our University Bie Ronghai, Principal Xu Erping, President of the Party Committee of the University, Xu Jiangyan, Vice President of the University, and the heads of relevant departments and units. The ceremony was chaired by Xu Jiangyan.
In the speech, Secretary of the Party Committee of university, Bie Ronghai expressed his gratitude to Chen Guangfei. He said that Sino-US Medical Group was a large international joint-stock enterprise, the scope of the business included investment, medical treatment, pharmacy, education, scientific research, bioengineering technology and R&D of Traditional Chinese Medicine. While leading the group to create remarkable achievements, Chen Guangfei never forgot his cultivation of the university, never forgot to carry forward the Traditional Chinese Medicine. He had always paid attention to the public welfare and assumed the social responsibility. In 2003, Sino-US Health Foundation was established by the group with a total investment of 10 million Yuan to provide free health consultation, guidance and service platform for the masses; In 2006, the Group invested more than 100 million yuan to establish a school in Qi County, Hebi, and donated it to the government; In 1998, Chen Guangfei donated 20 thousand yuan on the 40th anniversary of the university to set up the Student Assistance Fund of Chen Guangfei, which had injected a strong impetus into the development of the school and benefited the majority of students. Bie Ronghai pointed out that the comprehensive strength of the university had been continuously improved after 60 years of construction and development, and the university had become the leader and center of training, scientific research, social service, cultural heritage and innovation, international exchange and cooperation of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Henan Province. Every progress of the university come from not only the joint efforts of the teachers and students of the whole university, but also from the support and help of the vast number of alumni. As an important part of university running resources, alumni resources were the unique treasure of the university. They would provide solutions to the problems such as insufficient funds, student resource competition, employment difficulties and so on. The university would keep in mind the loving deeds of Chen Guangfei, give back with more excellent achievements, we would manage and use donations well to ensure that they play the greatest value and role, promoting the establishment of first-class university of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and helping the Central Plains to be more brilliant.
In the speech, Chen Guangfei sent his sincere wishes to our university’s 60th birthday and paid high tribute to the hard-working teachers. He said that the profound historical accumulation, distinctive characteristics and remarkable achievements of the university over the past 60 years had made the alumni at home and abroad very proud. The rigorous style and the courage to strive for first-class had never changed. Alma mater had endowed itself with a deep feeling of students, and he had learnt to think about the life. He also learnt to be thanksgiving, remembering, striving and dedicating. The achievements could not be separated from the cultivation of the university. The donation was to pay back the careful cultivation; he hoped to help the development of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
At the donation ceremony, Principal Xu Erping signed the donation agreement with Chen Guangfei. He accepted 50 million yuan on behalf of the university and issued donation certificate to Chen Guangfei.
