On May 23, 2018, a lively discussion entitled Sino-US Students’ Communication across the Pacific was held during the Acupuncture-Moxibustion class of undergraduate students of Chinese Medicine. Chaired by Professor TIAN Kaiyu, 7 postgraduate and undergraduate students from the College of Public Health University of Arizona were invited to communicate with students from our university on Sino-US college education including entrance examination, tuition, loans, accommodation, module choice, fail and resit, graduation and employment. American students admired the persistent spirit of Chinese students in pursuing their studies, and appreciated the low tuition and high coverage of Chinese college education. They were also surprised by the modernization, multi-disciplinary setup and scale of Chinese Medicine higher education. Students of our university learnt about the real life story of the US counterparts. They will value their time, work harder to serve the society better in the future. American students also praised our students for their English proficiency.
Since 2016, the University of Arizona has been sending a number of students each year to our university for TCM culture tours. The American students have been led by Professor Zhao Chen Chair of Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health, and Co-director of Confucius Institute at the University of Arizona. Acupuncture-Moxibustion, Tuina (Chinese massage) and Qigong courses are popular with these international students. ( School of Acupuncture-Moxibustion)
