In order to carry out the notification of "Perceiving China" by the China Scholarship Council, enrich the life of overseas students who are studying in China Chinese under governmental scholarships and broaden their horizon, and to help them better understand the humane geography and history of China, the School of International Education held “Perceiving China” social practice and cultural experience activities for students who have received Chinese governmental scholarship on May 10thto 11th,2018. The leading officials of School of International Education, teachers and eight students from the United States, Canada and other countries, went to Luoyang, Jiaozuo for a social practice and cultural experience.
In Luoyang, the foreign students experienced the profound history and culture of the ancient capital of the thirteen dynasties. The vivid stone statues of Buddha, grottoes and the stories in Longmen Grottoes infected every student. The ancient architecture and the long history of the Baima temple also attracted them deeply. They watched carefully and listened to the introductions very earnestly, they have learned more about Chinese history and culture, and felt the beauty of profound Chinese culture. The students coming from different countries and different cultural backgrounds were intoxicated in Yuntai Mountain and amazed by the beauty of the nature. They were affected deeply by the beautiful natural scenery, and have shown great interest in all aspects of China. During the journey, they helped each other, singing, dancing, and laughing together.
The activities enhanced the students’ understanding of Chinese contemporary development and traditional culture. The students also shared their experience with families and friends through telephone, network and we media, and became a messengers of "Know China, Befriend China, Love China" to spread Chinese culture. At the same time, they also felt the humanistic care, and have played a positive role in the establishment of a famous and first-class Teaching and Research domestic TCM university for us.(School of International Education)
