On the afternoon of May 18th, 2018, Prof. Guo Qing, Vice President of Zhejiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine was invited to give a lectureorganizedthe Lecture Room of our university. In the conference room A634, he gave a special lecture entitled“The Construction of Chinese Health Management Discipline and Talent Cultivation”. More than 200 Teachers and students representatives attended. The lecture was hosted by Vice President Feng Weisheng.
During the lecture, Prof. Guo Qing contrasted the current national health status with 40 years ago, and analyzed the background of the Health Management Discipline from the perspectives of individuals, countries, and the world. He pointed out that the "Healthy China" national strategy had provided a good opportunity for the development of Health Management Discipline. In combination with many years of continued efforts in the development of Health Management Discipline, he introduced to everyone the current status of the discipline development and to help “Healthy China” strategy. He also introduced the situation of the establishment, cultivation, training system, and teaching materials of Health Service and Management Discipline in colleges and universities throughout the country. He pointed out that the bright prospects and directions for the Health Management Discipline. Zhang Liqing, Dean of the School of Management, stated in his concluding speech that Prof. Guo Qing’s lecture was highly constructive and thought-provoking, which not only helped deepening teachers’and students’understanding of the Health Management Discipline, but also helped guiding the School of Management to better construct the Health Service and Management Discipline.
After the lecture, Prof. Guo also conducted a discussion on the revised version of the training program for the new major “Health Service and Management” of our university, and gave some guiding opinions on the training program for professionaltalents.
Guo Qing, MD and Postdoctoral of Harvard University, Professor and Doctoral Tutor, enjoys special governmental allowances from the State Council. He is currently the vice president of Zhejiang University of Chinese Medicine, and member of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine Reform and Development Expert Consultation Committee, member of National Health and Family Planning Commission for Health Promotion and Education Expert Committee,the Deputy Chairman of the Public Administration Specialty Committee of Higher Education Ministry,Chairman of the Health Care Branch of the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association and the chairman-in-waiting of the Health Management Branch of the Chinese Medical Association. He has presided over more than 30 projects including the projects sponsored by the National Natural Science Foundation, the National Social Science Foundation, the US CMB, the Ministry of Health, and provincial-level and ministerial-level scientific research. He has won more than 10 provincial and departmental awards, and has edited 13 works such as Health Management, and has published more than 140 papers in the journals at home and abroad.(Department of Science and Technology, School of Management)
