On the afternoon of March 11th, 2019, Teng Jing, the Director of Confucius Institute in New Brunswick, Canada (CINB for short), was invited to give a lecture entitledInternationalization of Students from the Perspective of Inter-cultural Communication” at HUCM. About 200 teachers and students attended the lecture including part of the teachers, students major in English and Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language from the School of Foreign Languages. The lecture was presided over by Zhu Wenxiao, vice director of the School of Foreign Languages.
In the lecture, Director Teng introduced the development history of CINB, the service content and foreign demands for volunteer teachers. In the meanwhile, she talked about the key skills in cross-cultural communication and ways to obtain an international vision by way of lots of vivid teaching cases. The lecture provided helpful reference for our university in terms of major setting, talent training and career planning.
After the lecture, Director Teng also interacted with the audience on the spot friendly. She encouraged the students to devote themselves to the development of Chinese language teaching at home and abroad and spread of TCM culture as soon as possible by developing strong language skills.
