On the afternoon of May 15th, 2018, Dr. Chen Yang, associate professor of the Lalopathology Department of the Duquesne University, was invited to visit our university and gave a lecture on “the Current Situation and Future Trend of Rehabilitation Therapy” in the amphitheater on the 3rd floor of the teaching building. The Facultyof School of Rehabilitation Medicine and more than 300 students listened to the report. The report was presided by Meng Changhai, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of School of Rehabilitation Medicine.
Associate Professor Chen Yang graduated from Duquesne University of the United States in 1999 and obtained Ph.D in Language Speech and Audiology. He has got nearly 20 years of teaching experience abroad. He is an associate professor of Lalopathology Department at Duquesne University, director of Voice Clinic in the Lalopathology Department at Duquesne University, member of American Speech and Hearing Association, member of American Acoustics Society, and member of Asia-Pacific Speech and Hearing Association.
In the report, Dr. Chen Yang introduced in detail the history of international rehabilitation medicine and the present situation of rehabilitation medicine in the United States, and forecasted the development prospects of national rehabilitation medicine in the future. Dr. Chen Yang also introduced the campus landscape, education and teaching, student management, and international student education of Duquesne University and South Alabama University in detail. Based on the cooperation in the past, he hoped that our university would take advantage of the Traditional Chinese Medicine and rehabilitation to promote the exchange of teachers and students. After the report, Dr. Chen Yang also conducted on-site consultations on issues about rehabilitation medical education, qualification certification of rehabilitation, and study abroad. Zhang Yunke, secretary of the Party Committee of theSchool of Rehabilitation Medicine, said that the contents of the report were rich by Dr. Chen. He gave the teachers and students a detailed introduction to the history of development, present situation, and prospects of School of Rehabilitation Medicine. He hoped that Dr. Chen Yang could play the role of a bridge and promote cooperationbetween us and American universities, which would improve the academic level of our teachers and students, and to construct the first-class rehabilitation medicine discipline.(Department of Science and Technology, School of Rehabilitation )
